The Hill Club Nuwara Eliya

The Hill Club of Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka was founded in 1876 by a British Coffee Planter, as a "home" away from home, and today a privately operated club, with luxury rooms and all modern facilities.

Location: Nuwara Eliya, or Little England as it is also aptly referred to, is Sri Lanka 's most popular holiday resort. At approximately 6500 feet above sea level, with temperatures ranging from 12 C to 22 C it opens into a breathtaking panorama of colour. Beautiful gardens, cascading waterfalls, lakes and sweet smelling mountain air, Nuwara Eliya is endowed with almost everything a holiday maker seeks. Golfing, Horse Racing, Boating, Fishing, Trekking, sightseeing and a host of other recreational facilities make Nuwara Eliya the ideal holiday resort "The Hill Club" stands in the midst of this dream resort.

Accommodation : 39 cosily appointed bedrooms with hot/cold water two suites and three family (Chalet) rooms

Facilities: Large reading room, Mixed Lounge, Men's bar, Mixed bar, TV Lounge, Games room (Monsoon Room), Darts room, Billiard room( 2 Full sized tables), Dining hall serving eastern and western cuisine, and A'la Carte, Room service, dress code applicable from 7 pm in all public area, Laundry, 4 Tennis clay courts with sheltered stands, visit to Horton Plains, visits to Famous tea estates, Bird watching, Hiking and Trekking, Pony Riding , Horse races, Golfing, Car Hires and IDD, Email, Internet Facilities.

Dress Code: Dress is informal except from 7.00 pm onwards when gentlemen shall wear lounge suit with tie & shirt or Sri Lankan national dress, and ladies shall wear suitable attire befitting the attire of gentlemen, In the case of children of over 12 and under 18 years of age, boy shall wear at least a tie with tucked in shirt and long or short trousers and girls shall wear an acceptable mode of dress, when utilizing the dining room or other public area. No jeans & shorts neither sneakers nor sandals will be permitted to be worn by member in the public areas after this time. This rule will naturally apply to tour guides when accompanying temporary members. In order to facilitate its implementation the Club has available a limited selection of Jackets and Ties on Loan to Temporary Members if required. However, the management reserves the right to assess suitability of attire.
