The Hunas Falls

20 miles from Kandy is the Hunasgiriya Peak and the beautiful waterfall which got its name from the peak (3000 feet above sea level). Hunas Falls area is most picturesque and has an excellent climate with temperatures between 17° and 25° C.

The Hunas Falls cascades down through lovely tea country and the water is trapped below in a lake, where trout is hatched for angling. Situated in the middle reaches is the Hunas Falls Hotel. It is in a tea and spice plantation, where most of the countries spices and also lemon grass are grown. Fascinating sunsets light up the whole range of mountains for miles around.

Location: At the Hunas Falls on 1500 above sea level, about 35 km from Kandy in a tea and spice plantation.
