The National Festival of Kites is an exciting annual event held each year to celebrate creative endeavours as well as national unity. The festival is generally held at many locations across the country and draws in flocks of people who wish to enjoy kite flying and have a good time in general. The colourful festival features skies with bright kites for a picture perfect sight with families gathering at the site with children to be a part of festivities. Special competitions are also typically held, with winners picked for criteria such as the longest kite, the most innovative heritage kite, best kite made from natural resources, the most innovative kite and the best fighting kite. Numerous mini kite competitions are also held together with kite workshops to ensure a memorable day out. Photography opportunities are numerous and several other activities and events are also held at the festival for an enjoyable experience.
