As the first, oldest and most experienced tour operator on the island, we pioneered showcasing Sri Lanka to the world.
Ours is a story that began when journalist, film producer and Sri Lanka’s “Father of Tourism”, P. A. Ediriweera founded Ceylon Tours in 1946, as a service for the foreign film industry using Sri Lanka as a film destination. To name a few, ‘Outcast of the Islands’ (1951), ‘Elephant Walk’ (1954), ‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’ (1957), and ‘Never So Few’ (1959) were shot in Sri Lanka with the assistance of Ceylon Tours.
76 years later, we remain a family-run Destination Management Company that believes in authentic and tailor-made travel. Our team is passionate about creating distinctive and purposeful holidays, offering exclusive bespoke travel experiences to all clients. We are obsessive about our standards of service, attention to detail and our creativity – from crafting your tailor-made holiday experience to on-tour delivery and support services.
